Description
You show a picture frame with a portrait of Harry Houdini. You open the back of the frame and separate all the parts : the back board, the backing cardboard, the portrait, the glass, and the frame proper. Putting the portrait aside, the frame is again assembled and covered with a handkerchief. An espectator holds the covered frame while you tear the portrait in pieces which are put inside a black cardboard cone. All the pieces, except one, disappear from the cone. When the frame is uncovered, all the vanished pieces have appeared under the glass, forming again the portrait of Houdini except for the one piece that remained in the cone. When this piece is turned over, the signature of Houdini is on the other side!

Vous montrez un cadre photo avec le portrait de Harry Houdini. Vous ouvrez l’arrière du cadre et séparez toutes les pièces : le fond, le carton de soutien, le portrait, le verre et le cadre lui-même. Après avoir mis le portrait de côté, vous réassemblez le cadre et le recouvrez d’un mouchoir. Un spectateur tient le cadre recouvert pendant que vous déchirez le portrait en morceaux que vous placez dans un cône en carton noir. Tous les morceaux, sauf un, disparaissent du cône. Lorsque l’on découvre le cadre, tous les morceaux disparus sont réapparus sous le verre, reformant le portrait de Houdini, à l’exception du morceau resté dans le cône. Lorsque l’on retourne ce morceau, la signature de Houdini figure de l’autre côté !
